Do Not Make and Worship an Idol god
Exodus 20:4-6
“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a zealous God.”
What is the “big deal” about using an image to worship God?
Never be a part of any effort or endeavor, that would reduce the magnitude, the magnificence, the majesty of God.
Examples: Crafting Mount Rushmore or Playing Beethoven’s 5th
Any image of God is a grossly, inadequate representation of who He is, and any attempt automatically reduces Him.
Two ways we might find ourselves “reducing God.”
