I Timothy 3:1-3 -
Blameless – no consistent, obvious sin
One woman man – he is devoted to his wife
Temperate – watchful, vigilant, clear-headed
Self-controlled – focuses on the important
Respectable – known for his good life
Hospitable – lover of strangers
Able to teach – capable of teaching
Not given to wine – not a drinker
I Timothy 3:3-7 -
Not greedy for money – not covetous
Gentle / Not quarrelsome – not harsh, unkind
Manages his family – obedient children
Not a recent convert – not a novice
Good reputation with outsiders – thought well of
Five questions that answer the question: Do I Love Money?
Is making money or doing a great job at what I do my top priority?
Am I content with what I have?
Do I show off what I have?
Do I struggle with or resent giving it away?
Would I sin to obtain money?
