The Walls are Built, Now What?
Nehemiah 7
Rebuilding Jerusalem was not primarily about walls and houses, but about people. The walls are built. Now it is time to focus on what a city is about – its people.
The city has been rebuilt, now what?
The city must be protected (vs. 1-3).
Worship must be restored (vs. 1, 44).
Instruction must be provided (vs. 1, 43).
Leadership must be established (vs. 4).
The city must be repopulated (vs. 5-60).
The temple must be supported (vs. 70-72).
These are people who showed up, stepped up, and took their place in God’s story.
God is looking for no less and no more from you.
